Eco Murals | Oceáno Místico
This project was born from our desire to express artistically the human impact we experience every day. Our focus became the oceans, our hidden universe full of mysterious animals, mythical creatures, and incredible environments. This 44-meter long (144 feet) mural depicts three major current issues: Shark Fining, Contamination, Over-Fishing and the mysterious depths. Now permanently painted and located around the gardens of the High school Salesiano Don Bosco, in Zapote, San José, Costa Rica. This comfortable space enabled us to freely express our ideas about these serious issues through our intent of creating consciousness though beauty for the younger generations. This project was the first mural ever created by Veritas Exchange Students. As mural professor, my goal was to enable the student-artists to experiment and experience various techniques, a large artistic collaboration and the completion of this grand painting with a very powerful message. I am so thankful for their immense time, energy and enthusiasm spent in this pioneer project.
